# Academy 5. Clients

*TBA Foundation · Lesson 5 of 9 · about 2 hours*

## After this lesson you can

- Find a client and add one without creating a duplicate.
- Explain what payment terms do.
- Record conversations in comms and send a statement.
- Read the AR Aging report to decide who to call.

## Why it matters

Clients are the center of the selling side. A clean client record means correct invoices, clear statements, and fast collections.

## Read

- [Client Overview](https://theasst.com/docs/client-overview/)
- [Clients articles](https://theasst.com/docs-category/clients/) (comms and statements)
- [Client Average Days to Pay](https://theasst.com/docs/client-average-days-to-pay/)

## The big picture

Search with **Find** before adding. A client's **terms** (for example Net 30) set the due date on their invoices. **Comms** keeps the history of notes, calls and emails. A **statement** shows what the client was charged, what they paid, and what they still owe for a period. The **AR Aging** report groups unpaid invoices by how overdue they are, so you can start your collection calls with the oldest. Salespeople on a client say who gets credit for sales to that client.

## Try it

1. Search for a client by a few letters of the name. Add a note in comms.
2. Run AR Aging. Which three clients would you call first, and why?
3. Open a client statement for last month.

## Check yourself

Can you say what Net 30 means and which invoices you would chase first? A practice quiz and certification exams are planned for a later release.
