# Banking Overview

Banking covers everything to do with your bank and credit card accounts: browsing the register, grouping payments into deposits, importing your bank’s data, and reconciling against a statement. ## How the Pieces Fit

1. A client pays you: record a [Client Payment](https://theasst.com/docs/client-payments/). It waits in Undeposited Funds.
2. You take the money to the bank: make a [Deposit](https://theasst.com/docs/deposits/).
3. You pay a vendor: use [Bill Payments](https://theasst.com/docs/bill-payments/) or [Quick Payment](https://theasst.com/docs/quick-payment/).
4. Each month, upload the bank’s file with [Bank Data Import](https://theasst.com/docs/bank-import/) to match what your books say against what the bank says.
5. When the statement arrives, [Reconcile](https://theasst.com/docs/reconciliation/) until the difference is zero.
