The License Agreement

Last update:

Using The Business Assistant™ (TBA) is covered by a license agreement between your company and us. You read it and sign it online. This page explains when you will be asked, who should sign, and what we keep as a record.

When You Sign #

  • When you sign up. On the Choose your plan step, the license agreement appears below the plans. You sign it before you continue to payment.
  • When the agreement is updated. If we publish a new version, a company administrator is shown it at their next sign-in and signs it before going on. Nobody else in your company is interrupted.

How to Sign #

  1. Read the agreement. It is shown in full in a scrolling box.
  2. Type your full legal name (first and last).
  3. Type your position with the company, for example Owner, President or Office Manager.
  4. Tick the box confirming that you are authorized to bind your company to the agreement and that you have read it and agree to it.
  5. Click Continue to Payment when you are signing up, or I Agree when you are signing in.

Typing your name is your electronic signature. It is as binding as signing on paper.

Who Should Sign #

The person who signs must be able to commit your company to a contract: an owner, a partner, an officer, or someone the company has authorized in writing. That is why we ask for your position.

  • If you are signing up: the person creating the company signs. If that is not someone who can commit the company, ask the right person to sign up, or to be there when you do.
  • If you are asked at sign-in: only company administrators (users who may change the company’s Setup) are asked. If you are an administrator but cannot commit the company, ask an owner or officer to sign in and sign. They will need an administrator account to do so.

What We Record #

Each time someone signs, we keep a permanent record of:

  • which agreement and which version, with a digital fingerprint of its exact text, so we can always show what was agreed;
  • the signer’s name, position and email address, and the TBA sign-in they used;
  • your statement that you are authorized to bind the company;
  • the date and time, and the IP address and browser the signing came from;
  • how it was signed (at signup or at sign-in).

A record is never changed or deleted afterwards. If you need a copy of the agreement you signed, or of your acceptance record, contact us.

When We Update the Agreement #

An agreement we publish is never edited. If the terms change we publish a new version, and your administrators sign it at their next sign-in. Your earlier signatures stay on record for the versions they covered.

Questions #

If something in the agreement is unclear, or you are not sure who in your company should sign, please contact us before you sign. See also Signing Up.
